Inkless Stretch Mark Revision
What is Inkless Stretch Mark Revision (ISR)?
A cosmetic procedure that works by creating small wounds in the skin that relate in a channel for the customized serums to be absorbed into the skin allowing an improved absorption rate above topical application alone. As with needling the method stimulates natural healing response AND a serums is introduced to further enhance the body's production response.
WHO: All ages, all ethnicities are potential ISR clients.
WHERE: ISR can be done on any stretch mark on the body.
WHEN: Anytime after a stretch mark has healed, at least 1 year old, and is not red, pink or purple indicating it is still healing. Once formed, stretch marks often take a year to heal, unless thee is still weight gain happening (do not treat at the time). Unlike ink camouflage for stretch marks the client does not need to be untanned for ISR.
WHY: Confidence! Although some people wear their stretch marks proudly, many others prefer to conceal them.
How long does it last?
Providing the client doesn't gain or lose a significant amount of weight and remains in good / similar health as when being treated the benefits of treatment can last for many years.
Stretch marks (scars) will never completely go away. ISR will only improve the appearance and texture of the area being treated.
No Ibuprofen (Advil) or any other blood thinning drugs 2 days prior to treatment and 1 day after.
No accutain for 6 months prior to treatment.
Medical history and who is not a candidate:
Chronic skin conditions, infections or skin cancer in the area being teated
Prone to Keloid scars
Recent us of accutane
Fitzpartrick & Who Is This For?
ISR is for everybody however Fitzpatrick 4/5/6 clients require a test patch to determine of excessive melanin response occurs resulting in hyperpigmentation of the treatment area.
Due to what is typically a strong melanin response Fitz 4/5/6 clients may require fewer treatments, however, we need to ensure the response is not so strong that hyperpigmentation occurs.
Hypo pigmented clients - are the ideal candidates for ISR
Hyper pigmented clients - should NOT be considered for ISR
Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)
PIH is temporary pigmentation that follows injury to the skin. It is mostly seen in darker skin types and can last up to a year.
Keloid Scars are...
Dark in color
form when extra collagen exist
Enlarge progressively beyond the original margins over time
Are genetic, particularly common in people of African Descent
In scar camouflaging Keloid scares are challenging correct, and are best left alone. If Keloid scars exist in the are of the stretch marks they should be avoided.
If you are prone to keloid scarring it is unlikely ISR technique will elicit a keloid scar response however a test patch to be certain.
ISR Serum & Allergies
If you are prone to allergic reactions it is recommended to have a patch test. Result take 48 hours.
